Day One: The Power Presenter
This Session, based on Jerry Weissman's book of the same name, offers offers the seven steps of story development and techniques in how to control the fear of public speaking and present with poise, assurance and confidence. The skills include eye contact, body language, gestures, voice production, and cadence. They will be implemented by exercises, small group breakouts, live video-recording, and video analysis of famous speakers, among them John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Barack Obama.
Day Two: How to Handle Tough Questions
This workshop, based on Jerry Weissman's book, In the Line of Fire, offers techniques in how to handle tough questions. The techniques include: active listening, paraphrasing, addressing the central issue to the question, and adding value. These techniques will be implemented by exercises, small group breakouts, and video examples of famous Q&A sessions including presidential debates, press conferences, senate hearings, and television interviews.
