“Presenting to Win” takes Front and Center

Jerry’s Presenting to Win, having sold more than 100,000 copies and been named as one of eight “must read” books by Fortune magazine, was released in a revised and expanded edition at the end of the year. The flagship store of Barnes and Noble at Lincoln Center in New York City featured the book prominently among its business section.

 

 

 

 

Jerry to Give Keynote at University of Pennsylvania

On Friday, January 16, 2009, Jerry Weissman will give a keynote address at The Executive Doctorate Annual Conference. Using concepts from his newest book The Power Presenter, he will focus on how to effectively communicate both mission and marketing strategies in the PowerPoint age.

The talk will be presented in the Inn at Penn on 3600 Sansom Street in Philadelphia at 9:00 AM.

Funded by the Noyce Foundation, SCU’s GSBI is designed to help developers of non-profit businesses and programs in poor nations learn Silicon Valley lessons in how to grow and sustain their enterprises.

The article describes how Jerry coached the members—from many different third world countries—and helped them enhance their pitch presentations.

In one of the earliest national exposes on Jerry’s coaching at Power Presentations, Quentin Hardy writes about the positive impact of Jerry’s executive coaching on IPO stock value.

His specialty is the ‘roadshow,’ the grueling round of gathering with investment professionals that precedes the initial public offering. These marathons often involve scores of meetings in dozens of towns over a few short weeks and can be daunting for untutored executives.

“I teach them Aristotelian concepts of dramatic structure—the call to action—plus a few tricks,” Mr. Weissman says. “Of course,” he adds, “I don’t tell them its Aristotle. Instead of quoting Shakespeare, I quote Henry Ford.”
