Sue Shellenbarger, the creator of the "Work & Family" column for the Wall Street Journal, did a piece last week on the importance of good grammar in the workplace. The column quickly became the most popular on the newspaper’s website. Ms. Shellenbarger identified the challenge at the beginning of her column: “looseness with language can create bad impressions with clients, ruin marketing materials and cause communications errors.”
The rest of her column is just as good, so I’ll step out of the way and let you read it yourself.
